Case Study: Portgordon

Location

Portgordon, Scotland

Service

Warehousing Slabs

This project involved the supply and installation of 46,000m² of finished concrete slabs across multiple warehouses, along with 17,500m² of external concrete roads, all designed by Blyth & Blyth engineers. The scope of work required expert precision and planning, with large-scale concrete pours reaching up to 400m³ per day. The slabs were reinforced with tied steel bars and mesh, laid over a damp proof membrane (DPM) to ensure durability and long-term performance. The internal slabs were meticulously poured to meet stringent specifications, ensuring a high-quality finish which we pride ourselves on, capable of withstanding the demands of warehouse operations, while the external concrete roads were constructed to endure heavy traffic loads. The project showcased the ability to manage large volumes of concrete while maintaining quality and safety throughout.
