Introducing Damian, our Concrete Pump Driver who has been with ACREO for nearly 18 years! Damian, a passionate football fan, has been a dedicated member of the ACREO team throughout the years. While he keeps his favourite football team a closely guarded secret, he never misses a chance to cheer them on from the stands. When he’s not supporting his team, Damian enjoys weekend walks with his wife and their dog, Hugo.
Damian’s journey with ACREO began when he came to the UK from Poland with a friend who worked for the company. A meeting with Andy led to an opportunity as a Labourer, which progressed to a role pouring concrete, and after obtaining his driving licence, he secured the role as a Concrete Pump Driver.
What Damian loves most about his role at ACREO is the variety it offers. Travelling across the UK to work on different projects allows him to experience changing scenery and meet new people. For Damian, the thought of doing repetitive work every day would be unappealing, so he’s grateful for the dynamic nature of his job.
Reflecting on his time at ACREO, Damian takes pride in every project he’s been involved in. A standout memory of a project he was particularly proud of was a 460m³ pour for a windfarm base near Fyvie, which is just one of the impressive projects he’s contributed to over the many years he has been at ACREO.
Ensuring that jobs are completed efficiently and safely is always his top priority. For him, there’s no better feeling than seeing a job done well, knowing that every member of the team has stayed safe throughout the process.
