Introducing Cameron, Trainee Setting Out Engineer at ACREO. Cameron is an integral part of the team, bringing dedication and enthusiasm to every project he works on. His role is crucial in ensuring precision on-site and contributing to the success of projects across the UK.
Cameron’s career in the construction industry began when he left school to study Architectural Technology at Robert Gordon University (RGU). After earning his degree, Cameron worked as a CAD Technician before joining ACREO for a position as a Trainee Setting Out Engineer. Now, 14 months into his role, Cameron has gained valuable experience and continues to grow within the company.
No two days are the same for Cameron. He can be found doing any of the following:
- Setting out, levelling, and surveying sites.
- Working with site plans, drawings, and building information models.
- Liaising with designers, engineers, and other professionals to ensure accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
- Overseeing quality control to maintain ACREO’s high standards.
One of the projects that has left a lasting impression on Cameron was a major distillery storage facility in the North of Scotland. He joined shortly after the work had commenced and was able to immerse himself in the project under the guidance of Project Manager. This experience allowed him to gain invaluable on-site knowledge, develop his skills rapidly, and hit the ground running.
When he’s not on-site, Cameron enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. He also has a passion for sports, particularly padel, which he plays at Strikers in Aberdeen.
Cameron continues to build on his experience at ACREO, taking on new challenges and developing his skills with each project. His hands-on approach and willingness to learn make him a valuable part of the team.
